Klopp: Balotelli needs to leave Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has told Mario Balotelli that he should leave the club.

The controversial striker is back on Merseyside for pre-season training after spending last season on loan at AC Milan.

He scored just one league goal for the Reds after signing for £16m two years ago and has widely been criticized for his lazy attitude.

And it seems as if Klopp is not prepared to give the Italian another chance at Anfield.

When asked about Balotelli’s future, the German said, “I have spoken to him about this.

“He’s not at the stage of his career where he should be battling with four or five other players for one or two positions, so it’s clear we need a solution.

“There will be a club around that who would be happy to have the new Mario Balotelli. I have spoken clearly to the player about that.”

Sampdoria have expressed an interest in the player, with club president Massimo Ferrero saying that he would be a perfect fit for the club.

The 25-year-old has also been linked with a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League, but it remains unknown whether he would be willing to relocate to Asia.
