Ojo stars for England U19s again

Sheyi Ojo recorded his third assist of the tournament as England beat Croatia 2-1 in the European U19s Championships on Monday.

The Liverpool winger teed up Chelsea’s Isaiah Brown for the opening goal of the game after four minutes, before Silvio Anocic’s own goal doubled England’s lead.

Nikola Moro pulled a goal back for Croatia but Aidy Boothroyd’s side held on to a win that ensures they finish top of Group B after wins against France and Holland.

The young lions will now face Italy in the Semi-Finals on Thursday ahead of a potential Final match against Portugal or France in Sinsheim on Sunday night.

Advancing from the group also ensures that England will compete in next summer’s FIFA U20 World Cup, to be hosted in South Korea.

Ojo, born in 1997, will be eligible to play for England in the competition, which takes place between 20 May and 11 June.
