Who was Liverpool’s best player against Stoke?

Substitute Mohamed Salah scored twice as Liverpool moved up to fifth with a 3-0 victory against Stoke at the bet365 Stadium.

The Reds took the lead after 17 minutes, with Sadio Mane coolly dinking the ball beyond Lee Grant after Dominic Solanke’s flick.

Stoke then rallied, and were left aggrieved when Simon Mignolet escaped with a yellow for a wild challenge on Mame Biram Diouf on the edge of the box.

They were perhaps fortunate to go in at the interval just one behind, however, as Solanke spurned an excellent opportunity and Mane hit the post.

Salah, introduced in the 67th minute, gave the visitors breathing space with an emphatic finish from Mane’s cross.

The Egyptian, a revelation by all accounts, then took his tally to 12 league goals by sliding the ball past Grant after being set through on goal.
