Brandt set to snub Liverpool interest for Germany stay

Liverpool linked attacker Julian Brandt could reject Premier League advances to remain in Germany this summer.

Tottenham, as well as the Reds had been interested in the Bayer Leverkusen forward this summer, with the 23 year old considered a top young European talent.

However, while it isn’t certain whether Brandt will leave Leverkusen this summer, it appears that a switch would almost certainly see him remain in Germany.

According to Sky Germany, as cited in Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre live blog, Brandt will join Borussia Dortmund if he decides to move away from the BayArena, despite interest from Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The report also claims that Brandt will remain with Leverkusen, where he still has two years left on his deal, should the club qualify for the Champions League. They can still do this if they better Borussia Monchengladbach’s result this weekend.

However, Brandt would also reportedly consider staying, even if they only make the Europa League spots.

While the Germany international would only cost the Reds £21.5million, it seems Brandt has made up his mind to remain in Germany.

Brandt is believed to be available for a release clause of just £21.5million, but has seemingly made his mind up to stay in Germany whether he makes a move or not.
