Carragher And Simpson Apologise For Twitter Spat

Reds legend Jamie Carragher was involved in another war of words on Twitter on Monday evening, as barbs he was exchanging with Leicester City full-back Danny Simpson turned personal.

The former Liverpool centre-back, who turned out for the club in their friendly last week with Sydney FC, started their latest round of social media sparring after being pictured with this snake below:

Carragher and Simpson had previously swapped insults after the Sky Sports pundit questioned the Leicester players’ desire, as they imploded under Claudio Ranieri last season but were like a different team after he was sacked, and Craig Shakespeare took over.

Simpson responded three times before Carragher deemed a reply was worthy to this tweet:

The wisecracks then turned personal, however, with Simpson referring to Carragher’s wife, and the ex-Liverpool man responding with a reference to allegations about Simpson and his ex-partner, before both recognised lines had been crossed and exchanged apologies:

So all’s well that ends well.

Until the next time…
