Liverpool boosted as Brazilian trio may not play March internationals

Liverpool have been boosted by the news that Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino may not have to play for Brazil during the March international break.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds trio may remain at home, with CONMEBOL considering cancelling Le Selecao‘s games against Colombia (March 26th) and Argentina (March 31st) later this month.

The report claims that ‘postponement is on the table’, due to the virus currently affecting the world.

Jurgen Klopp has spoken about not allowing his players to head off on international duty if they have to quarantine afterwards, but he may not have to worry about this issue with Alisson, Fabinho and Firmino.

The Liverpool trio are all going to be vital performers between now and the end of the season, with Klopp needing them to be as fresh and available as possible.

Alisson’s influence between the sticks is undeniable, while Fabinho has been a shining light during a difficult season, excelling in an auxiliary centre-back role.

Meanwhile, Firmino will be looking to return to the form that has deserted him for too long now, with Diogo Jota’s return from injury putting pressure on his place in the team.
