Liverpool given boost after Coman injury

Liverpool may have been given an injury boost prior to their Champions League tie against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, with Munich forward Kingsley Coman limping out of their 3-2 win over Augsburg on Friday.

The French winger scored the first two of Bayern’s goals, but he wasn’t able to make it through the contest unscathed.

Nico Kovac’s men were made to finish the game with ten men, after Coman went down in the closing stages and had to be helped off the pitch and down the tunnel after all of Bayern’s substitutes had been spent.

The Bavarians had already confirmed that attacking duo Arjen Robben and Thomas Müller were set to miss the Round of 16 first-leg tie at Anfield on Tuesday, but with Coman now injured, the Reds are finding themselves in an ever-strengthening position.

Bayern though will travel to Merseyside in good spirits, having tonight reduced the gap between themselves and Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund to two points.
