Young goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek signs for Liverpool

The Reds have agreed a deal to sign the 16-year-old goalkeeper and Schlage said he will train with the first-team goalkeepers at Liverpool in the near future.

The FC Wroclaw goalkeeper had a trial with Liverpool back in September and he impressed the staff at the club’s academy. The Reds’ staff apparently decided then that they’d like to sign the youngster but had to wait until he turned 16-years-old to complete a deal.

Now that he has turned 16, Mrozek is allowed to make the move to the new Premier League champions.

Mrozek will become the third Polish goalkeeper on Liverpool’s books, following in the footsteps of Kamil Grabara and Jakub Ojrzynski, so the Reds clearly have a thing for ‘keepers from Poland.

At the age of 16, it’s pretty much impossible to expect anything from the goalkeeper in the short term, but fans of the club’s academy teams will be keen to see the teenager in action when academy level football resumes in the Autumn.
