AC Milan meet with Dejan Lovren’s agent – time for Liverpool to sell?

AC Milan have reportedly held discussions with Dejan Lovren’s agent ahead of a potential move for the Liverpool defender.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, cited by Sports Witness, the Serie A giants are considering a move for the Croatia international and have also contacted Scottish champions Celtic over a potential deal for Kristoffer Ajer.

A move for either Lovren or Ajer would cost the Italian side a healthy sum, with the Reds valuing the 30-year-old at €20 million.

Celtic would also demand a big sum for the Norway international, with Neil Lennon eager to keep hold of the talented 21-year-old.

If Liverpool can bring in €20 million for Lovren, it would definitely be viewed as a great piece of business.

The experienced defender is currently behind Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk in the pecking order at Anfield and it doesn’t look like the player will be handed regular opportunities next season should he stay.

A move would see the Reds recieve a healthy sum for the defender, which would also then give the player the chance to re-establish himself as a starter with another European heavyweight.

Milan would also be signing a defender who still has a few high-level years left in him, so a deal could actually end up pleasing all three parties, something which is extremely rare in today’s market.
