Revealed: Why Brighton’s goal against Liverpool should have been disallowed

It has been revealed that Brighton’s goal against Liverpool should not have stood, due to a break in the rules of the game.

The Seagulls got a goal back just after Alisson was sent off for the Reds, with Lewis Dunk scoring to make the score 2-1.

But, as revealed by Brian Durand on Twitter, the free-kick was taken illegally.

The ruling is new, which means that attackers can no longer stand in front of the wall to block their view.

Therefore, Liverpool should have been awarded a free-kick.

This just shows another issue with referees this season, with this incident not spotted by anyone, not even the pundits on Match of the Day.

Liverpool have therefore been denied a clean sheet, and potentially a win if Brighton had managed to get a second goal.
