Who was Liverpool’s best player against Cardiff?

It was nervy in the first half, but Liverpool dug in, stayed patient and were able to see off Cardiff City in relatively comfortable fashion.

Big misses by Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah left a lot to be desired in the first before Georginio Wijnaldum opened the scoring just before the hour mark with a thunderous shot from a corner to ease everyone’s nerves.

Cardiff had to come out of their shell after that. They did create a few good chances but didn’t have the cutting edge that was needed.

Sean Morrison, who missed a fantastic chance earlier, brought down Salah in the box with 10 minutes remaining and James Milner slotted home the penalty to put the result beyond doubt.

With Manchester City winning yesterday, Liverpool needed to pick up all three points to keep pace and although it wasn’t a trademark Liverpool performance, they did exactly that; but who do you think was the Reds’ best player?

Simply select which of the players shown below you think had the better game and go ‘winner-stays-on’ style until the end.
