Combined XI: Liverpool and Manchester City

Ahead of Liverpool’s crunch meeting with Manchester City on New Year’s Eve, we’ve drawn up a combined XI.

The Reds currently sit second in the table, six points adrift of leaders Chelsea but a point clear of Pep Guardiola’s men, with both sides enjoying a three-game winning run.

The last time the two sides met, it was Jurgen Klopp’s men who strolled to a 3-0 victory, gaining revenge for their League Cup heartbreak a matter of days earlier.

The Anfield faithful will be hoping for a similar result on Saturday as Liverpool look to keep pace with Chelsea, who will be the overwhelming favourites when they face Stoke City at 3pm.

With the Reds in fine form this term and City boasting an array of top-class talent, the combined XI is sure to be strong one, even if it does include players currently sidelined by injury.
