Liverpool Player Ratings: Swansea (A)

Abysmal, really. A Liverpool side outclassed in Wales.

Albeit, a very weak and second-string Liverpool side. Jurgen Klopp was obviously putting all his attention on Thursday’s massive second-leg against Villarreal.

It is hard to put your finger on any standout performers in the Liverpool side – but I’ll give it a solid go.

Swansea did play well like everyone knows they can, but Liverpool didn’t do themselves any favours. Basic defensive errors have been a recurring theme this season. The press that Klopp has tried to implement this season wasn’t there at the Liberty Stadium.

That probably had a lot to do with personnel and the inexperience of playing with each other. The second-half performance, despite not being anywhere near good enough, was a lot better than the first-half one.

I think that goes some way of putting into perspective how bad the first-half performance actually was!
